Punny!

Puns are pretty dumb. But they're kind of funny at the same time. We were sitting at the table the other day laughing at the stupid puns we came up with. Here are some we came up with, and others that we've heard before.

Did you hear about the cannibal who showed up late to lunch? They gave him the cold shoulder!

Did you hear about the fight in front of the candy store? Two suckers got licked!

Did you hear about the butcher who backed into his meat grinder? He got a little behind in his work!

Did you hear about the guy who spilled coffee down his shirt? He got hot under the collar!

I wanted my dad to help me change my flat tire, but he didn't have any spare time!

My chicken dinner smelled a little fowl, but I decided to wing it!

Did you hear about the cross eyed teacher who guy fired? He just couldn't control is pupils!

The frustrated cannibal threw up his hands!

There's something about hondas that strikes accord in my heart!

Hehe, okay! Enough of our silliness. Which one did you like best? Do you have any of your own? Comment!

The Plan

Lately in children's church, they have been teaching about God's plan for our lives. I have been up and down lately, and things have been making me think more and more about God's plan for my life. Wondering about it. I want to be great for God and do great things for Him. I've heard so many stories of miracles people have seen and experienced. Stories of great revival, of God doing amazing things for people. I want to go up a step higher, I want to experience great things for MYSELF. No matter what anybody else thinks or believes, I'm going to claim God's word for myself. God is worthy that I should give Him my very best no matter what I am going through. I was reading my Bible the other day and a verse stood out to me. God told Sarah that she would conceive and have a baby, and she laughed at God, because she was old. She doubted. At her old age, it would be considered impossible for her to give birth. God asks Sarah, "Is anything too hard for the Lord?" That really, really stood out to me. Nothing is too hard for God! We sometimes don't get what we need because of our doubt. We magnify our problems rather than magnifying Jesus. He is SOO much bigger than our problems. Things do come and overwhelm us, but if we cast our cares on Him, He will be there! There is something about praise that will get you through. There is something about having a full cup of joy that brings FAITH that will get you the miracles you need. God lets us go through things so we can learn to trust Him and rely on Him. If He didn't send trials our way, we might get thinking that we're too good on our own or that we don't really need Him. But God really does hold our lives in His hand, and He is worthy that we should live for Him. He wants us to have faith in Him and believe in Him! I don't know exactly what lies ahead for me, but I can trust God that no matter what, He will see me through because He has a plan yet for my life. I have felt His calling to do things for Him, to be great, to be a leader. I may have to go through things if I want to be what He wants me to be, but if I praise Him through it and keep praying and having faith, He will take care of me! God has a plan for your life, and if you stay close to Him and seek it, He will take you great places. We all need eachother. =) We all need eachothers prayers and encouragement. We need to believe God for eachother. I'm so thankful to be a part of the church and to know that when I go through trials, the people of God will be right there with me to pray for me and encourage me! And believe for me. Just wanted to end this post by saying I appreciate so very much the people in my life who pray for me and encourage me. I will always need you.

Okay Nancy, I promised I would start posting recipes so here it goes! This is a recipe for Oriental Chicken Wings! We have these pretty often and just about everyone likes them.

JOY

J is for Jesus
O is for Others
Y is for You.

In that order. Put God first, then others, then yourself. It brings JOY! It really does make you feel so good to know you're right with God, and to be serving other people. That is one of my goals, to become a better server.

"These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full."

This Sunday night I went to church in Fremont. I was feeling kind of down and discouraged and I really wanted to be in church. (Church is the best place to go when you're feeling that way.) Bro. Wright preached about having joy. He brought out a connection between joy and faith that I had never noticed before. When you have a full cup of joy, you have no room for anything else. No room for doubt, discouragement, or depression. Jesus wants us to have joy. He knows that when we are full of His joy that we will have faith to believe Him. He wants us to believe Him for miracles. He wants us to trust Him! When you have the Holy Ghost, you get joy unspeakable. It is up to you to keep it! If you can have rejoice in the hard times over the good things that are to come, people will notice something different about you! Your happiness can effect people in a great way. Nobody wants to be around people who are constantly feeling sorry for themselves. I know, life deals some tough things, but you have to make up your mind to have joy. Things aren't just going to miraculously happen for you if you sit around feeling sorry for yourself. If you get up and believe God, and rejoice at what He is going to do, you can just watch the good things that will happen! Spread the JOY!

Make a coventant with your eyes

This is a poem my mom wrote and I thought it was good and worth sharing. I stole in from her blog not long ago and decided to post it. Her poems are better than mine.

Make a covenant with your eyes
to shield your gaze from satan's lies.
For pondering on forbidden fruit
can lead to sin, your soul pollute.

Imagery oft makes alluring cries
Make a covenant with your eyes.
Let your sights be turned away
from temptations that lead the heart astray.

Captivations of the mind
May spring from seductions, the visual kind.
Make a covenant with your eyes
not to look at the things that can lead to demise.

Sometimes it takes just only a look
to lead us away from God's holy book.
The way that is right, the way that is wise
make a covenant with your eyes.

Acronym challenge

J- is for ?
E- is for?
N- is for?

N- is for?
I- is for?
F- is for?
E- is for?
R- is for?

Yes, I left it blank. That is because I want to see what my wonderful readers can come up with! Leave me a comment filling in the blanks for my Jennifer acronym. You don't have to be nice, you can be sarcastic. It's okay to be mean to me if I know you're joking. If you don't know me very well, then make something up. I love to laugh!

My faith post

This post is because of things I have been struggling with. Physically, and spiritually. I have the Holy Ghost. (God's Spirit living inside of me) It's the best thing that could EVER happen to you!! Things come our way, physical problems, earthly problems, financial problems, all sorts of things. That is life, and living for God does not take those problems away. But those who serve God do have benefits. He promised to never leave or forsake us! He promised to make us stronger through trials! He promised ME He has something in store for me. He wants to use me! I have been struggling with things lately, not feeling well. I have struggled with fear, anxiety, and doubt. But God has been showing me things in His word about FAITH. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. God responds to faith. God honors faith. Sometimes things look so hopeless but if we will only believe, He will see us through. He might not always take away our tribulations, but He will be with us through them, and we will come out greater if we hold to His hand and praise Him through it. There is power in praise, and though I have felt very discouraged and afraid, I can encourage myself in God. Those feelings do not come from God. He still wants to use me, still has something for me, still wants to make me great. He has had His hand on me since I was a child and I'm trusting Him with my life. So easy to say, so hard to live. But I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me! There is something great in store yet for me. I can only see the peaks, not the road. But I will get there. I will be great for God someday, and I'm on a journey.

Pray for the Brown family

Sis. Janiver Brown, pastor's wife of Napa, CA, passed away this morning. Please pray for her husband, 4 kids, and church family. We rejoice that she is no longer suffering, yet we are sorry to lose her. Pray that God gives her family peace and comforts them in this time.

Hotel de Glace

I recently heard of a hotel in Canada which is made entirely of ICE! Cool! Literally. It would be neat to visit a place like this. Click here to see more pictures!
