Books

Frank Peretti's book "This Present Darkness," and its sequel, "Piercing the Darkness," are two of my favorite books. Both stories show what is going on both in the natural world and in the spiritual world. While we do not know exactly how demons and angles work or battle, Frank Peretti's imaginations of them do cause you to think about what may be going on in the spiritual realm.
When the saints begin to pray for the situations and crazy things going on in the natural, things begin to happen in the spiritual. These books will cause you to think about prayer, and how you can make a difference in the spiritual when you really take time to get a hold of God for something. I heard a preacher once say that what we see going on in the natural is often a reflection of the spiritual. When you see people struggling with rebellion, attitudes, or just getting into things they shouldn't, it is because there are spirits behind it. When things start going crazy in your world and nothing seems right, there is probably a battle going on in the spiritual.

These books start off exciting and stay exciting all the way through. I'm the kind of person that has trouble finishing the book if the first few chapters are extremely boring. If you want to read novels that will be both exciting and thought provoking, I suggest you give these two a try.

Building walls

What are walls for? To protect things. To keep danger out. God puts walls around the things He loves and wants to protect. This past Thursday night at church Bro. Gaton came and taught at our church about wall building. He brought out some really good points that I wanted to share. They're really important. We need to pray and read our Bibles throughout the week. That's how we wall build. So many people slip away from God because they didn't build any walls in their lives. You can go to church and get blessed by the preaching and worship, but it will not keep you if you don't have a walk with God on your own. You can't rely on other people's relationships with God, you have to have your own. Bro. Gaton talked about how the devil told God if he took His protection away from around Job, that Job would curse Him. Job had a walk with God and was a righteous man. When God took His wall of protection away from around job, then devil ran in and then ran right into something else. Job's wall. Job's walk with God is what kept him. Even though he went through some very tough things, he blessed God. The devil could not get through the wall that Job had built. What Job did for Job is what helped Him. God may protect you and do things for you, but if you do not get your own relationship with Jesus and build walls of protection around your heart and spirit, things will come in and mess you up. Build walls in your life. Praying and reading the Bible is really important! We only have one life for Him, let's make each day count!

Another interactive post

This is a riddle: If you think you know the answer, then comment! If you're not sure but you have a wild guess, please do so as well!

A train carrying 300 passengers de-railed and crashed.
Every single passenger on the train died.

When the railroad came out to the scene of the crash,
they heard cries for help coming from within the train.
How is this possible?

Last night's youth prayer meeting

Last night our youth group and the youth group from Pittsburg had a combinded prayer meeting over at their church. We always combind our youth services/activities, so we're all like family anyways. Prayer was so good! It sure wasn't dead, we really, really prayed. A lot of things have happened in the past year and some of the youth have suffered setbacks, but I feel like great things are going to happen this year and there are going to be break throughs. There was unity in our prayer last night. First we all prayed for ourselves, that God would revive us. Then we prayed together, then we called out the names of people we wanted to see in church and began to pray for them. And I know that Jesus heard us and is going to answer those prayers. Prayer is powerful, more powerful than we realize. If we would all just live our lives how God wants us to and stay in prayer, so many things would happen. I want God to use me through prayer.

God's Presence

The words to a song are on my mind:

In the presence of Jehovah

God Almighty, Prince of Peace

Troubles vanish, hearts are mended

In the presence of the King

That's so true. If you're hurting today or struggling with something, I'd like to encourage you to get into the presence of God. God's presence does miraculous things. God can put back together broken homes, mend broken hearts, and turn sorrow to joy. It's amazing what God could do. If more people would pray and reach out and touch God, their lives would be so much better. I know, because when I reach out in prayer and touch God, my life becomes better.

YOU can make it

What is life really all about? Have you ever stopped to wonder that? Where are you going? What are you doing? Where will you end up? That's what it's really all about. Not where you start, but where you finish. You may have started off bad, but God can change that! You can end up somewhere good! It all depends on your obedience to God's word. You can make it to heaven! Don't let guilt weigh you down and keep you from getting back up! You can do it! If you want to make it, you can. With God all things are possible. He can forgive you of anything you have done, and He can help you overcome the things that you still struggle with. Just ask for His help and if you are sincere, He will help you! Just thought I'd encourage you. :)
