Out of the mouth of babes, again!

2 entries ago, I made a post entitled "Where's God?" This is sort a continuation of that post, so read that one first if you haven't. This Sunday, back in Kid's Church again, one of our teachers was asking the kids "Has anyone ever seen God?" Of course all the kids said no, except one, who shook his head yes: Jelani. He is 4 years old. Everyone started laughing and the teacher said "Wow, I'd like to come to your house!" Jelani replied, "My house is a mess!" His poor mom. LOL

The Patience Post

Something that I have observed just about every week since I have been working with kids has got me thinking. I noticed that when they want me to read them a book, many of them do not have the patience to make it through a single page. Before I'm done with the first page they are already flipping to the second page, or even to the middle of the book. Sometimes we are this way with our lives; we try and get ahead of God. I know adults that have the habit of picking up a book to read and skipping to the end because they just can't wait to see how everything will turn out. I've been guilty of doing the same thing! We as human beings just have to work at this thing called patience. So many times we rush things that we want rather than letting God have His way. We want to skip a few pages and rush the story of our lives. I have found that God's way and timing is perfect; if you try and work everything out yourself, you will bring pain to your own self. If you skip some pages, you ruined part of the story. Just let God unfold the rose, because He always gets it right.

If we are going to make it to heaven, we are going to need to have patience. Jesus said in Luke 21 verse 19, "In your patience possess ye your souls." We've seen it happen over and over again; people don't have the patience that it takes to grow in God. You're not going to get where you need to be overnight. It's going to take hard work and diligence; for both of those things, we need patience.

"Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh." James 5:8

We need patience in so many difference areas:
  • Patience with our own selves
  • Patience enough to wait on God and let him have His way
  • Patience in waiting for the right person in your life
  • Patience with your family: Spouse/kids
  • Patience with other people in general
  • Patience, Patience, Patience!

But know this: When you have patience and wait on God, the end will always be good! It will be so much better than we could ever make it to be ourselves. I can look back on my own life and see the places where I tried to work everything out myself and do it my way. Guess what happened? A train wreck! It just WON'T WORK if you do it your way! But when I let God have His way in me, everything worked out! "But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing." James 1:4 Yes, it's not always easy and there will be pain when you have to let go of things, but you will heal and be better off than ever before. It doesn't matter how bad your beginning was: the end is what really matters.

Ecclesiastes 7:8 says this: "Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit."

If we're too proud to let go of our own ways and be patient with God's ways, our end will not be a good one. The end is what matters. God help us to be patient and let You have your way in us.

Where's God?

This Sunday before Kid's church started, one of our kids said something pretty funny. My mom walked in to church, then my brother, and then me. My dad hadn't got there yet. Jelani turned to his mom and said, "Where's God??" LOL

It was too funny and way too cute! Out of the mouth of babes; You just never know what they are going to say next...But God can and has used the words of children! When I was probably about 2, there was a lady who was staying back during altar call in a service. I went up to her and said, "lady, go pray!" So she went to the altar and she got the Holy Ghost! LOL Thank God...

Summer!

Summer time is just around the corner! I like summer because of fun trips and cool treats. :)
Going to the beach
Getting/making smoothies

Pretty summer sights

Sometimes in the summer time it gets really easy to kick back and get comfortable or even lazy, especially those who don't work and are out of school for summer. Along with all the nice things that summer brings, I look forward to spiritual experiences the most, like at Pacific Coast Camp. Summer is fun but it's not a time to forget about God and get lazy! I'm thankful that God is with us all year round! He doesn't take vacations from us and we should never take a vacation from Him.

Interior Decorating

One of the funnest things to me is decorating! Love it! I like to look at pictures to gain all kinds of ideas. There are many different types of "looks" you can give a room. Some people decorate modern, and others may stick to a more elegant, old fashioned style of decor. Here are some different looks I found:
Very modern, and girly with the pink rug
This is more elegant - I like elegance!
Pretty with the lighting, but maybe too bright?
Definitely a female touch here. lol
A sitting room - not sure what to think of this one.

Interesting color choice!

What are your favorites? Do you like to decorate?

With my whole heart

Anybody need some good news today? Here it is: God has a plan for each and every one of us and He wants to do great things for us!

Jeremiah 29:11,12,&13 - "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end, then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart."

If we want things to turn out the way God has planned for our lives, we need to seek Him with our whole heart; Not half of it, not 3/4 of our heart, but with all of our heart.
II Chronicles 15:15 - " And all Judah rejoiced at the oath: for they had sworn with all their heart, and sought him with their whole desire; and he was found of them: and the LORD gave them rest round about."

There is something about putting everything you've got into it that gets the attention of the Almighty God. He wants to know that we really desire Him with everything we've got, because He is a jealous God. Deuteronomy 4:24 - "For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God."

We've all been guilty of doing things half heartedly; I know I have. But God expects our very best. He wants us to give him our whole whole heart.

Matthew 22:37&38 - "Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment."

Common word? ALL.

Help! SOS!

As most of us have seen and heard, there was recently a very devastating earthquake that rocked Japan, causes many tsunamis. I was browsing though pictures of this recent happening when I came across this first one posted here. Somebody wrote on the ground, HELP, and SOS. (save our souls.) It pulled at my heart as I thought of this hurting and evil world that we live in. Not only are people crying out for help from all the signs of the end times, but they need deliverance from their sins. God help us to reach them!
"Know this also, that in the last days perilous times shall come." II Timothy 3:1
God is coming back soon - Are you ready? Are you reaching to those who aren't ready? It's time to get busy.
In the Bible in the book of Matthew, chapter 24, the disciples asked Jesus, "Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?"
Jesus said... "Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows." Earthquakes have gone up dramatically on the scales since 2000. There's all kinds of war and rumours of war going on, and many people claiming to be Christ or to have some type of power. The end times are here...

God forbid that we would be asleep when the world is praying for help.
