OnCourse and more

My, what an outstanding conference this year! The preaching was awesome, and God moved in such a special way! I haven't uploaded any pics yet and I have been rather busy, so I have no pictures to post as of now. If you weren't at OnCourse, get the preaching CD's! "Creatures of the night" was preached by Elder McMullen and that is a MUST hear for everybody!! It is one of those messages that if we can just get a hold of it, it will keep us! I was so glad to see some faces that I have not seen in quite a while! Like, my TWIN, Jen! She asked me if I was in line at the hotel, and I said not. She didn't even realized it was me! I was double checking to see if it was her because I didn't want to say something and then look dumb if it wasn't her! LOL! But it was, and it was very nice to see her again, even if I didn't get to hang out with her much. :( I also saw Michelle and Elissa again, which was lovely, of course! It was nice to meet new people. One of the things I really love about conferences is that our young people get to see just how MANY other young people are living for God too! It's so encouraging!

On the last night we were living In N Out to go to the gym, and we got caught in what felt like a hurricane! We were running to my car super fast because we were getting soaked, and one of the girls started screaming and hopping around because her shoe flew off! It was very funny. (When it was over.) By the time we got inside the car we were sooo wet and our shoes were full of water. Our faces looked like somebody sprayed us with a squirt bottle.

On the way home, God definitely had His hand on us! I was driving and it was raining hard. I need a new windshield, so I really couldn't see very well. We were switching freeways and the traffic in front of me suddenly came to a stop. I had to hit my brakes of course, but we were going fast, so I lost control of my car and we went sliding, and almost hit our youth leader's car! I found out later that his son had the same thing happen to him in the same spot! It was pretty crazy, but neither of us crashed and somehow the car stopped sliding and I gained control. I am thankful that God protects us!

God is good! I'll post some more later!

Service with the Wakefields

Ok, this is a bit delayed but here it is! I told Nicole I would post. Just wanted to say I really appreciate people who will sacrifice to do the work of God! God blesses every effort. We had a great service and Bro. Wakefield preached a great message that helped us. Austin was hilarious and we had a good time listening to him talk while we ate lunch. Lol! Too cute. I'm thankful for this family and for all those that are laboring for the Lord.

Solar Flare hits Earth

One of the strongest solar storms in years engulfed Earth early Thursday, but scientists say the planet may have lucked out. Hours after the storm arrived, officials said were no reports of problems with power grids, satellites or other technologies that are often disrupted by solar storms. But that still can change as the storm shakes the planet's magnetic field in ways that could disrupt technology but also spread colorful Northern Lights. Early indications show that it is about 10 times stronger than the normal solar wind that hits Earth.

Things like this make me stop and think about how very small and helpless we are and how very BIG and Mighty our God really is! He holds it all in His hands. So many times we can get to thinking that we are something on our own, but really, we are just one of the many creations that God holds in His hands. We are nothing, yet He loves us.

Psalm 24:1 The earth is the LORD's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

Psa 8:3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
Psa 8:4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?

Small update

Okay, I haven't been posting anything exciting really, but I will next week! If I remember. :)
On Sunday we had the Wakefields with us in service (minus Bethany :( she's in Mexico). We had a great service. Bro. Wakefield preached an awesome message about worship and the Holy Ghost moved in a powerful way! God knows what we need! They sang too, and I loved it! I really wish I could speak Spanish. Sigh. I need to learn anyhow since we are going to Peru this summer! Very excited about that! After that I want to go to Mexico to visit the Wakefields. That's the next mission, at least in my mind! lol Anyhow, I'm getting off track. The Wakefields came over to our house after service and Austin has us cracking up. I don't know how many times Nicole had to tell him to sit down and eat his food because he wouldn't stop talking. Loved it though, he's so sweet! He said "No offence to the Mexicans, but I don't like their food." Hahaha! I sure do! lol

Today while driving home from work I saw a boy riding a horse down the sidewalk, (not uncommon in the place I live) and he was looking at his phone and texting! It was such a funny sight...Riding a horse down the sidewalk, dressed like a cowboy, and texting, not even looking where he was going. People these days! That's like milking a cow and blogging at the same time! They just don't go together!

Today, I give 2 birthday shoutouts!
One to Kate Rogers, she is today!
Another to Abel Kifle, he is 99 today! lol jk, inside joke. I think 23.

Anyhow, Happy birthday to them both!

I know this post was random but that's about all I have.
God is good and I'm grateful for Him in my life! I am blessed!
