Riddles

I have 2 riddles for those who care to try.

                                                                 (Think hard!)
 
1. What gets wetter and wetter the more it dries?

2.The man who invented it doesn't want it. The man who bought it doesn't need it. The man who needs it doesn't know it. What is it?


Enjoy trying to guess while I find the time to actually make a good post worth reading. :)

    Before I came here and saw the other replies, I had towel and while I didn't have an answer for the second one, I honestly DID think of the word "slave" as did Anali, but I did discount it as a non-fit. I saw the new film Lincoln this afternoon (OUSTANDING historical movie), so maybe that's why "slave" came to mind. - UM
