Beware of Trojan Horses
The tale of the Trojan War is very unusual and interesting to me. The empire of Greece had been trying for a very long time to invade and conquer Troy. Finally the Greeks came up with a plan of deceit. They built a giant wooden horse for the Trojans, making it hollow so their soldiers could hide on the inside. The Trojan's believed horses to be sacred animals, so when a Greek named Simon presented the great horse to Troy, the King and the people gladly excepted it as a victory trophy. Two Trojans spoke out against the horse but nobody else listened. They brought it into their city and drank and celebrated. The Greeks waited inside the horse until Troy's inhabitants were either in drunken stupor or asleep. The man named Simon who presented the horse to the Trojans let the Greek soldiers out of the horse. The soldiers, led by Odysseus, rushed upon the people, killing them and taking over Troy. Of course the Trojan's then realized very quickly that, what they had let in to their city that looked so good and wonderful, they had let in for their own doom. But it was too late to do anything about it. A "Trojan Horse" has come to mean any trick that causes a target to invite an enemy into a securely protected place. Eventually a Trojan Horse will come your way and, if you are not careful, it can destroy you. We have to be careful about what we let in to our lives. Your Trojan horse may be a boy/girlfriend, a job, a style, or anything else that could take over your life. There are spirits behind styles that can effect your attitude and eventually take over who you are and what you do. Same with a relationship. Someone might seem really great at first but if they are not living for God like they should be, they can drag you away from God and that will destroy you. We need to stay prayed up and in God's word because the devil walketh about as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. Don't invite him in! He makes things, people, and styles look so good at first, but there may be soldiers waiting inside for you to get caught up in it so they can rush out and take over. Let Jesus reign in your life and don't let a Trojan horse inside.
