Who am I?

This post is not just written for others, but for myself.

 

We as human beings all have something that we have to deal with. Pride.

What's in the middle of pride?

PRIDE.

That's right! Pride is "all about us." Sometimes  Many times as humans we can get caught up in praise, attention, trying to make ourselves look good, promote ourselves, and on and on. Pride is something that all of us need to kill in our lives everyday. So, before we go around thinking that we're something special, let's remember who holds our very breath in His hands. We are not in control, God is in control. Sadly, there are those who choose not to humble themselves, and as a result, God has to do the humbling.

 

Humble yourself:  God does the lifting up

Lift up yourself:  God does the humbling

 

It's much better to humble yourself than to be so proud that God has to humble you. And when God does it, it hurts!

 

Look at our planet where God placed us. Our world is so big and full of people. Yet it's hanging in space. Outer space is mind boggling. We are but a mere speck upon the face of the earth!

                                                         Zoom in a little. This is just a closer view of one city.

                                                    Look at the masses of people. I believe this picture was taken in the Philippines. Very overpopulated! Those people are like dots. Yet each of them has a story, a background, a life.

 It's easy to look at pictures like these and see our insignificance. Look how small humans are compared everything else God has created. How could we possibly think we are great, important, and take glory for ourselves when it should be God's?

                                                           It reminds me of a scripture:
"What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him"? Psalm 8:4

God forgive us for the times we thought we were the ones making it happen, when You were the One blessing us. God forgive us for relying on ourselves when we really need Your help in every way. Help us to remember that you are the potter, and we are the clay. Help us to keep in mind that we are nothing......without You.

But....

We CAN have confidence in Him. If you are a child of the King, you have a right to hold your head up high. Not in fleshly pride, because remember, we are nothing, but just knowing who you are because of HIM!

He is:

• The One who holds our very life in His hands
• The One who gave us life
• The One who provides our needs
• The One who saved us
• The One who heals us
• The One who forgave us
• The One who gave His own life for us

If someone so mighty, worthy, and holy could humble Himself, come down to earth, take on our sins, and die for us, how much more should we humble ourselves?

"I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing." John 15:5

Without Him we are nothing.
