Dear Preacher

Dear Preacher,

I speak on behalf of the Apostolic young people of the 21st century. We would like to thank you for taking a stand for what is right, and for not being afraid to draw lines where they should be drawn. If  not for you preaching the whole Word of God to us, we would be lost.  Thank you for the fences you have placed around us to protect us from the ravening wolves of worldliness. Though there may have been times we have tested our boundaries, craning our necks to taste of the grass on the other side of the fence, we really do want the fences there, for we now realize that without them, we would not know where we belong; We would no longer feel protected.

Please don't ever think that just because young people are crazy, daring, and always looking for something new and exciting that we want you to take the path of 'relevance'. Please don't try and make church services like rock concerts. Please don't bring out the strobe lights and smoke machines. It doesn't make us happy, it brings us no joy, and all the hype not help us overcome sin. If we wanted all of that, we wouldn't come to church.  We come because we want to know God and understand how to please Him so that we can be saved. We come because we want help. We come because we desire a deeper purpose for our lives. The shallowness of the world is tiring, only leaving us to continue our search for something that lasts. You have and know what lasts, and you know what the Word of God says. Please tell us, we're begging you.

If it wasn't for a God called preacher, our families that are now saved would still be lost. If it wasn't for a God called preacher, the hope of having our unsaved loved ones come to the truth would be impossible. How can we hear without a preacher? How will we know how to get to heaven if you don't tell us? How will we know what will send us to hell if you don't tell us? Imagine going to the doctor and he sees that you have a very serious disease, but he doesn't want to scare you or hurt your feelings, so he just tells you you have a cold or some minor problem - "not all that big of an issue". He sends you home with what you wanted to hear, but not what you needed to hear. A few months later, you see that there really is a serious problem, much worse than a cold. Too late. Nothing they can do.  Please don't do that to us - if we have a serious problem, please tell us! If we're going down a wrong path, don't be 'afraid of our faces' as the Bible says. Don't be intimidated by a spirit of rebellion or bad attitudes, but please deal with it how it needs to be dealt with. You never know who you might pull from the fire, because you told them what they needed to hear but not what they wanted to hear at the moment. When the problem is 'cured' later, they will come back and thank you for not being afraid to tell them like it is.

Again, we are so grateful that you told us what we needed to hear. We are so thankful for your prayers. Please don't ever, ever stop preaching to us. Don't ever be silent about issues that should be confronted. Silence kills us.

Continue to do what you have done - deal with sin and preach the Word. To you we are forever depending upon until that day we hear the trumpet sound.

Again,

THANK YOU!!!

Sincerely,

Apostolic young people

All those that feel this way, let them know.

Yes, I want to be saved. I don't want my church to appear like the world. Give me something different!

I absolutely agree. Pastors, preachers, and men of God, are such an important part and do play a key role in our salvation. I thank God everyday for having a pastor and having men of God that stand firm on the old foundation and will not compromise their beliefs to keep up with the changing times. Young people, I know me for sure, need these preachers more than ever to pray, stand strong, and fight for the truth!

Amen! I appreciated it as a young person and I still appreciate the men of God in my life.

Wow....very good post. I couldn't agree more. This is my prayer. No modern, updated church will save me. The old ways will get us to Heaven.
Loved this so much.

O yes...where would I be without a preacher? Let's not even go there.

I'm so thankful for the true, anointed, Christ-like preachers God has gifted us with. Words cannot say how much I have been HELPED and SAVED by the words spoken by a preacher under the unction of the Almighty.
Thank you!

This is a post full of truth. There is no way any of us would be where we are today without the man of God that has been placed in our lives. I am so thankful for the burden they have and their response to what God has called them to do. I love sold out Pentecostal preachers who preach it like it is!! We do not need any of the contemporary stuff that just speaks to the flesh and increases emptiness. I am so beyond thankful for my pastor.
