Continually

If there is anything that God has been dealing with me about this year, it is consistency. Being consistent in prayer, fasting, and studying God's Word. It's something I need to do all the time without fail. Life is busy, and if we are not careful there will always be something to do besides pray. I was reading recently in the book of Leviticus and noticed the word "Continually" several times. Serving God is not something we do only when we feel like it or when it is convenient for us; It is something we should be doing continually.

Leviticus 4: 2 - 4 -- Command the children of Israel, that they bring unto thee pure olive oil beaten for the light, to cause the lamps to burn continually, without the vail of the testimony, in the tabernacle of the congregation, shall Aaron order it from the evening unto the morning before the LORD continually: it shall be a statute forever in your generations. He shall order the lamps upon the pure candlestick before the LORD continually.

In the Bible, oil serves as a type and shadow of the Holy Ghost. If we want our lamps to burn continually so that we shine as lights in this dark world, we need to make sure we stay full of the Holy Ghost! It doesn't matter how full you got yesterday; when you start a new day, you need fresh oil in your vessel. In Matthew 25, the 5 foolish virgins couldn't enter in because they were un prepared and did not have enough oil. We need the Holy Ghost working in us continually.

How can we stay full of the Holy Ghost?

Acts 6:4 -- But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

Praying continually is so important!

Luke 24: 53 - And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.

Being faithful to the house of God is so important! We need to be in His house continually. Every time the doors are open, we should be there.

Psalm 119:44 - So shall I keep thy law continually for ever and ever.

Keeping His law continually. Doing what He says! Obeying! Continually.

Psalm 71:14 - But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more.

We should always hope in Him! He is our only hope. Put your hope in Him no matter where you are in life and no matter what you're going through. Let it be a continual hope and trust in Him!

Psalm 34:1 - I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

I love the above verse. Blessing the Lord at all times. This means good times and bad times. Happy times, sad times, grievous times, hard times, busy times; Whatever the time is, we should bless the Lord. His praise shall continually be in my mouth!

Continually
Lord work in me
everyday
do something new

I desire to pray
Continually
that I might
stay full of You

In Your house
singing praise
Continually
to You

To walk with Thee
is truly
what I want
Continually

Amen; consistency translates into endurance, which is what we need to finish this race!
