Please Stay With Me

Dear Reader,

I would like to introduce myself to you today.  I suppose most every one of you knows my name, though few actually possess me. I have had many throw me to the wayside, and I soon observed the rapid destruction of their life happen before my very eyes.  Some have walked with me a mile, only to eventually decide they couldn't go my way any longer, leaving me, to take their desired short-cut.

Those that have stuck with me have never regretted their decision; those that have left desperately wish they could come back to the place they left off walking with me and start over, staying with me until the end.

I understand I am not easy to keep with at times, but if you stay with me,  I will be your best friend.  I will help you through life when you feel as if you have no vision. When you want desperately what the future holds, hold fast to me and I will keep you.

  • When you are pursuing God's will, you must hold my hand.
  • When you are attempting to find the right career, stay with me.
  • When you are looking for a future mate, please cleave to me!
  • When the storms of life seem like they'll never end, don't let go of me.

Dear friend,

My name is Patience.

Let me just tell you about some of the things I've seen happen to people, especially young people, who have let go of my hand. When they let go of me, I have seen them:

  • Make drastic decisions
  • Jump into bad relationships
  • Settle for less - wrong job, wrong spouse....
  • Get offended because they weren't picked
  • Lose their virginity
  • Lose their own family pursuing after silly things
And sadly, much more....

Jesus said,

"In your patience possess ye your souls. "(Luke 21:19)

Yes, many lose their own souls because they had NO PATIENCE!

Young people of my generation - Patience is so very vital to you finding the will of God in your life. I encourage you today to be patient.

  • Be patient even if all your friends get married first
  • Be patient even if things aren't going the way you had planned
  • Be patient even if Brother So-and-so got asked to preach first
  • Be patient even if Sister So-and-so got asked to sing first
  • Be patient!!

You'll never regret it....

Romans 8:24-25
For we are saved by hope:but hope that is seen is not hope:for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
