This past weekend my family and I took a trip down to the L.A. area to be with the Savala's in Highland, CA. They started a new church there a little over a year ago, and God is blessing. I lovvvee home missions. God was definitely with us in those services. It was exciting to see so many new people crying out to God. I am excited for this church! Please keep the city of Highland and the Savala family in your prayers.
On Saturday, we ate at a Chinese place in L.A. and then walked a few blocks to the Garment District. I thought we had strange people in the Bay Area, but L.A. has quite a few individuals who are a few french fries short of a Happy Meal, to say the least. In some ways, the garment district reminds me of the Inka and Indian markets in Peru. Good prices, people trying to make deals, and most people speaking Spanish. lol
What a deal! This is why Apostolics come here so much...material is so cheap there! All of these skirts were 5.00 each.
Scrubs! For all my nursing friends. 5 dollar tops. :)
Bro. and Sis. Savala and their lovely daughter, Cassie. I love this girl! (And her laugh)
Picture of the new church in Highland! I didn't get any pics of the congregation during service because I was on the front row and didn't want to be distracting. But on Sunday morning they broke their record attendance, and this place was packed! We had to pull out extra chairs! Sunday night service was really good as well! The Browns from the Spanish work in Rialto also came to the service - I found out Bro. Brown grew up in Peru! The stories and reminiscing about Peru and the people there makes me want to go back even more.
Anyhow, overall, it was a good trip! God is good!
