Victory

I have more good news to share, because God has been doing some great things around here! Sis. Linda walked in one Sunday (I believe beginning-mid April) and has been coming ever since. I don't think I have ever, ever, ever seen anyone so broken over their own sin and not just the consequences. She came in truly wanting to repent. Sis. Linda was well dressed, clean, and respectable... maybe not someone that if we were to see out in public, we would think, "she really wants God." We look on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart. Some people look so well put together and seem like they have it all, but they are crying out for God on the inside. God had been dealing with Linda for months about coming to our church, and then someone left an invitation on her door. She came!
She has had her "good times" being on TV and in magazines as a former model, lived in a nice home, but as we know, earthly things do not satisfy. It has been so amazing to see the transformation in Sis. Linda's life! Her 3rd Sunday she stood up and told the church that she really need us and truly wanted to repent and stop smoking. She had even taken off her cross necklace and told the church she realized how "ugly it was - because the cross is ugly. It's where He died." She was so broken and humble. It reminds me of Psalm 51:17, which says, "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise."
Her 4th time coming to church, she was baptized in Jesus' Name and was filled with the Holy Ghost when she came up out of the water! Her husband and children were there for her baptism.

She is soaking up the teaching, so willing to do what it takes, and is learning so quickly because she truly wants to please God. Sis. Linda is on a walker because of a physical condition that can be very painful, but she still does her best and even told my mom that despite her condition, she has the most important thing - her salvation. That's truly what matters most. Are you saved?
That same Sunday in the evening service, God filled Jelani with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost! It is beautiful to see this child lingering in the presence of God and already allowing God to use him to witness and invite people to church. Never overlook or underestimate a child. Their witness is so powerful! If you have small kids, allow God to use them. That age is so important and only lasts a short time.

Jesus loves the little children... truly.
After service, Jelani told his mom, "I've never felt like this before. I feel like I'm walking in the Spirit! I feel like God is right over me!" Talk about making your mom tear up! I can truly see the hand of God on Jelani. It's beautiful.
Looking forward to so much more! I'll be sharing more good news, soon.
