The faith of a child

My aunt was telling me today that my little cousin asked her when they would get to see Jesus. She explained to her that we would have to wait for Jesus to call us to His house. My little cousin then told her baby sitter that she was waiting for Jesus to call them on the cell phone. Little kids are so cute and have so much faith. Another time when my aunt felt sick, 2 year old Abby prayed for her to get all better. When she was done, she said "do you feel better now?" My aunt told her that she was sure she would be feeling better soon--and you know, she did! I was thinking about the faith of little children. An adult could be doubting in a situation that seems impossible, and to a little kid who has been raised by that adult and has been taught just to ask Jesus, it is confusing, because in their minds, all you have to do is pray and believe God and He will make everything better. And you know, they are right! We have so much doubt, and God wants us to believe. He is able to do anything! In the beginning of Matthew chapter 18, the disciples went to Jesus and asked, "Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?" Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, and He said, "Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven." Sometimes we just need to get over ourselves, and our doubt, and believe God's word. God always keeps His word, and He said, "With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." Also, "And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall recieve." We need to learn to trust God with our lives situations with the faith of a little child...because God truly is able!

I just started today (Friday, 6-20-08) to make a list of all Abby's little sayings. Abby was sticking out her belly, and I told her I didn't want to see her BIG belly. She said, "but it's a little belly." I said to her, "Well, I don't want to see your little belly." Then she said, "but it's a cute one." THEN I laughed.
