Words

Word are powerful - they can kill, and they can give life. What will yours do? Do you build people up or tear them down?  Jesus said:

But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
Mat_15:18
The things that we speak can harm others and defile us ourselves! Our church's Thursday night Bible studies recently have been on the book of James, addressing the treatment of others, and the tongue. (What we say) I like what my dad said: Surface problems are only a result of the root causes.

Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

If we keep our hearts, we will do better at keeping our tongue. We can get ourselves into much trouble by speaking the wrong words.

Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.
Proverbs 21:23
