Success is failure turned inside out -
The silver tint in the clouds of doubt,And you never can tell how close you are,
It might be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit -
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.
This is the last stanza of the poem "Don't You Quit."
It takes patience not to quit. Jesus said, "In your patience possess ye your souls." (Luke 21:19) Many people give up in their walk with God because of situations that come their way. Many people give up in their walk with God because things didn't go as planned or because they hadn't seen happen what they wanted to happen in their time frame. God's timing isn't ours!
I remember the tragic story of a young man from a church in Texas who needed a job. An "opportunity" came up for him to have a job in another state, which would take him away from his home church. If I remember correctly, an evangelist had told him to God had something for him and he needed to wait on God, but he didn't listen. He went and took the other job out of state and was killed in a car accident while in disobedience to the man of God in His life. Situations like these make Jesus' words ring loud and clear. "In your patience possess ye your souls." It turns out that a local job wanted this young man to come work for them, but it was too late. He wasn't patient. If we lose our patience, chances are we will make hasty decisions outside of the will of God. These decisions could result in tragedy. The greatest tragedy of all is for one to lose their own soul.
You never know how close you are to the promise! You never know what beautiful things God has for your life if you will only wait and be faithful. Be obedient! God always keeps His Word - He can never fail.
Don't you quit!

Hi Twin,
If it's not another church, that story sounds like something that happened at my TX church.
I love that picture of the guys digging through the tunnel. Don't Quit!
