Being A Friend

I went to find a friend,
But could not find one there;
I went out to be a friend,
And friends were everywhere!

-Unknown

Proverbs 18:24 - A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

In this life I have come across people who have complained that they just didn't have any friends or that they didn't fit in anywhere. The above verse is one that I have pondered multiple times, and after reading the above quote last night, I thought on it again: showing yourself friendly.

If you will determine in yourself to be a friend to others rather than always seeking something in return, you will find yourself one day surrounded by friends--real friends. Some have "friends" because of their status in life, be it popularity or money. However, life happens to all of us--people can lose their riches and fame, and with it they lose their "friends." A true friend is one that is there for you.

So, my question is: Are you a true friend? Do you find yourself without many friends around? Do you pity yourself? Remember Proverbs 18:24! A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly! If you will be friendly and truly care for others without expecting anything in return, you will be blessed with good friends.
