Our interent has been down and I'm logged in through dial up right now. It's pretty slow! I just wanted to post real quick about yesterday. We had an awesome church service and we really heard from God. There was a word of prophecy and it ended with "this is the generation to whom all things are come, even my coming."
God is coming back soon, and we need to be ready!
He really touched me last night in my spirit and I needed it. I'm thankful God knows what we need and is right there for us! He is so good to bless us the way He does!
It is the greatest of all mistakes to do nothing because you can only do little – do what you can. ~Sydney Smith

He is with us
When we go through dark times in our lives, it is very easy to feel alone and consumed by the wilderness of trouble that we're in. Going through hard times is a part of life, and these times come to each and every one of us. I have been there, and so have you. Maybe you're there right now. One thing that can bring us comfort is to know that God is right there with us. Don't get angry and confused about God because of your circumstance, but rather, be thankful that He has not left you to deal with it alone. God is always right there for us!
Joseph went to prison for something that was not his fault. Genesis 39:21 says "But the LORD was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison." God was with him and blessed him in his affliction, and we all know he came through. David's life was being pursued, but God was with him, and kept him! Same goes for many in the Bible. While they were in the dark, in the midst of their trial, the Lord was with them.
It's a privilege to pray and be able to feel peace that passes all understanding come over you. Many people blame their problems on God, when really, their problems are just a result of sin and our fallen nature. Things happen to you and I that are not fair; many times it is because of the bad choices and sin of others. It amazes me when I think about the people in the world that go through hell on earth, and they do not have the privilege of calling upon Jesus and knowing He will take care of them. They do not know how their situation will turn out or who will help them. If you are a child of God, you know that you can pray and get a hold of God and feel His peace, even in the midst of a raging storm. That in itself is something to thank God for! Looking back I can honestly say that some of my darkest times in life were also some of the sweetest and closest times I had with God - because He was right there. Trials cause us to hit our knees...and sometimes we really need that.
Reading Psalm 91 is very encouraging. One of the verses says "He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler."
We can hide under His wings for peace and protection.
With every storm, He provides a shelter.
With any mountain, He can make a way.
Through every dry time, there's living water.
I'm thankful I serve a God who is WITH ME in this life. This life is not perfect, but if we do what we are supposed to do on this earth and be thankful despite our pain, we will make it to heaven where everything will be perfect! No more pain and suffering! I intend on being there, how about you?

My "new" cousin
Yesterday was a pretty neat day! I got to meet my cousin Alexis for the first time, and it felt like we already knew each other. She is from New Mexico but is going to school out here for a while, so we have been in contact and have seen pictures of each other. Our schedules kept clashing, and so we went and surprised her at her work yesterday! (We were in the area) It was really exciting and we got to talk for a while and take some pictures. I'd say we look related! lol

She is such a sweet girl and we are supposed to get together with her and her older sister next month, my other cousin that I haven't met! I'd say it's definitely pretty cool to meet a family member for the first time and click with them like that. We had a fun day!!
Happy 19th Birthday, Hanna!
Hanna has been a real friend because she is real inside and out and she truly loves God! I've known Hanna for a number years, but we've become so much closer in the last 2 years. Our friendship has really been a blessing in my life. We all need good friends to encourage us, stick by us, and be honest with us. Hanna has been all of that and more, and we have shared many good memories together.Sadly, she can't be with all of us in California for her birthday because she is in Miami! But we'll have to celebrate sometime when she is back! I love you Hanna, thank you for being who you are; A great friend. And...... HAPPY 19th BIRTHDAY!

Urgent Prayer Request
Please pray for Bro. Kerr, Pastor in Fremont. He had a heart attack today and is in the hospital. He really needs a touch in his body, and I know a God who is able!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful Mother's out there! There is no mother like a mother who has the love of God inside of her. My mother is definitely one of them, so I would like to say a Happy Mother's Day specifically to my own mom!
I love you Mom, you have been a godly example to me for 19 years. I couldn't ask for a better mom! I hope your day today was special.
Love,
Jen

A little quote
"Sin will take you farther than you meant to go,
Longer than you meant to stay,
And costs more than you meant to pay."
Bro. Baker said this tonight at church. It's so true, and I wanted to share. Hope everyone is having a good week. Keep our church in your prayers. :)

Busy!
Okay, well, not that busy. (Referring to the picture) But busy enough to not be posting regularly on the blog. Oh well, I guess it's a good thing! I've been pretty busy with work and church related activities. God is good! This past Saturday we had a decorating day at church for the new kid's quarter we just started for Kid's Church: A Fruitful Life. The kids are learning about the fruit of the Spirit. It's such a cute theme! I have some pictures that I'll post later! I think this is one of my favorite themes we have done. There's an orchard scene with fruit trees, the sun peeking up, and hills in the background. The middle has a tree, a picket fence, sun flowers, and a watermelon patch. Then the other side is the barn with little hay bales and a vineyard. And clouds! So cute! I love it!Last Thursday Bro. Savala preached for us, and it was an AMAZING message on the importance of water baptism in Jesus Name. I have never heard it preached from this perspective, it was incredible. I might do a little post later explaining what he talked to us about in more detail. We had good services Sunday as well. I love church!
I went to visit a girl yesterday that has came to our church a couple times before with her twin sister. She should be having her baby any time now, and there have been some complications. Her mom told me she was going to call me and ask me to pray. People may not always remember what doctrine you believe, but if you are living right they will know that you can touch God for them. Her mom is thinking about coming to church as well, and I know God will really touch her. It's amazing the things that people go through, and all without knowing God. I want to introduce them to Him.
That's all for now! Have a good week living for Jesus!
