3 Sundays ago after an awesome service, Bro. Steve had a Bible study with pastor about repentance before baptism! After the Bible study he removed all his jewelry agreed to stop smoking. 2 Sunday mornings ago, Steve was baptized in the lovely name of Jesus Christ!
We had about 8 first time visitors that service that witnessed the baptism, including his 2 step kids who came to be a support. Bro. Steve came up out of the water and began worshipping God, and he was soon speaking in other tongues as the Spirit of God gave him the utterance! The church praised and worshipped God excitedly. I'm telling you, it never gets old!Steve's wife who has not yet received the Holy Ghost was there holding his hand as he danced and shouted in the baptistery. He had a good old Holy Ghost splash down in there!
His wife heard him speak in tongues, which was so awesome for her to experience! We are believing God for her, too! And their family!
There has been a very steady flow of visitors praying and seeking God in the altars lately around here, and I know it's not just in our local church, but in many places. God is stirring His people and will do what He said He would do:
Rom_9:28 For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth. Time is short and a great harvest is beginning to take place. I just want to be a part of it and bring someone to God.
We were very honored and privileged this past Sunday to have Elder Robert Nix of Lima, Peru with us both services. What a deep word of the Lord we heard. There was deep conviction, and I was truly helped and blessed by both the Word of God and even simply by spending time with Elder Nix. He is very dear to us along with his family, and we were blessed!
Our youth group took a picture with him after evening service. Such memories most of us share from our 2013 missions trip to Lima, Peru! I hope we can all go back together someday.
